General Dynamics Mission Systems–United Kingdom and GRC to deliver Scytale SATCOM systems

|

General Dynamics Mission Systems–United Kingdom has been selected, along with supplier GRC, to incorporate eight Scytale SATCOM systems into the core Bowman system for the British Army.

Using multi-platform, multi-bearer SATCOM, while integrating Scytale SATCOM technology as a Deployed Bearer of Opportunity (DBoO), will connect headquarters to users in dispersed operations enabling accessible and secure communications at the tactical edge. This rapidly developed capability demonstrates how industry can collaborate with the Armed Forces to bring about cost-effective and coherent solutions.

This capability will play a key role in targeted Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) missions and provide an ever-evolving core network. Developed with interoperability in mind, when paired with the fielded Land Deployable Gateway and newly launched Compact Tactical Gateway, joint operations will achieve a truly integrated force.

We’re proud to partner with GRC, who specialise in satellite networking solutions, as part of our commitment to elevate small and medium sized businesses. Their expertise combined with our deep domain knowledge has brought about an agile solution that can keep pace with the changing face of the modern battlefield.
