General Dynamics Mission Systems–UK selected to deliver proposed solutions for Typhoon next generation mission computing

|

HASTINGS– General Dynamics Mission Systems–UK has been selected by BAE SYSTEMS to work with them to develop their proposed solutions for major elements of the next generation mission computing cluster architecture for the planned long term evolution upgrade of the Eurofighter Typhoon.

This new generation of mission computing capability has been derived from many years of research, development and experience gained over decades of delivering advanced avionics capability into the Eurofighter programme.

The new system architecture will provide a step change in high assurance computing power, secure storage capability and high speed data networking between system components. This will support the overall Eurofighter plan for Typhoon future capability growth in addition to removing obsolescence.

Announcing the formal selection, Sam Steggall, Capability Director, said, “We are proud to be selected to support BAE SYSTEMS in developing this step change in capability for the Eurofighter Typhoon. It builds on our global position of providing cutting edge avionics and tactical communication and information systems. It further demonstrates the talent, innovation and ambition held within our UK business.”
