Meet Daniel – Technical Authority

Supporting our Armed Forces community is at the heart of everything we do. We know that those who serve have the skills, training, and strategic expertise to benefit our workplace, and we’re proud to employ both veterans and reservists in various roles across the company.

Meet Daniel. A Technical Authority, working with our Land Systems team on the Ares, Argus and Athena variants for the AJAX program.

Outside of the office, Daniel is just as hands-on. “I like to turn my hands at some practical jobs, and I like to get on the tools.” He brings that same hands-on mindset to his role as a General Technician – Mechanical in the Royal Air Force (RAF) Reserves.

Ten years ago, Daniel joined the RAF Reserves in search of a new challenge and keen to deepen his mechanical knowledge. Five years later, he found his ideal civilian role with our Land Systems team. What made it a perfect fit for Daniel was our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant and our reservist policy that actively supports colleagues in their service commitments.

When asked to describe his experience as a reservist in just three words, Daniel was quick to respond: Rewarding. Inspiring. Challenging. He values the time he spends alongside his Armed Forces colleagues in the field and brings lessons learned back to his role at General Dynamics.

Daniel has made a point to share his operational knowledge and experience with emerging talent, as a means to inspire others. He has also committed to sharpening his leadership skills by investing time in both mentorship and professional development.

“My work with the RAF Reserves helped me further understand the benefits of being an effective leader, and I take that knowledge into the mentorship I do with students and with our newer colleagues at General Dynamics,” he shares.

Daniel’s story is just one example of colleagues across the business who are making meaningful contributions to the Armed Forces through both their work with us and their military service.
